Desrin Corinne Kitson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Desrin Corinne Kitson, who departed this life on June 29, 2026.

Desrin will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family touched the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Devon (Patricia), Clifton (Sophia), Maraye (Howard), Jacynth, and Stacy-Ann. She was a devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Desrin is also survived by her brothers, Roy and Errol; her sisters, Blanch, Eccle, and Iva; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in the love she shared, the values she instilled, and the many lives she enriched. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and enduring faith will remain an inspiration to all who were blessed to know her.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered forever.

Thanksgiving service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026 at Lyndhurst Methodist Church, 23A Lyndhurst Road, Kgn. 5 at 10am.

  1. I thought about Mrs. Kitson, I know she was not well for an extended time and know that it has been difficult for you all.

Just thought I would remind you that I too know her a long time: 40+ years, from Marathon Drive days through Three Oaks and Hillman. As a visitor to the home, she has always made me welcome. I remember regularly spending time talking with her by her room door in Three Oaks as she sat by the sewing machine, asking me various things about how I was doing.

It was a good relationship. One of which I am glad to have had. I too have benefitted from her life and who she was. There is no need to take for granted the acceptance, good intentions and grace extended to us by our friends’ parents. I have always received that from her. Her standard greeting to me whether in person or by phone (in her slow-talking voice), still rings in my ears.

“Locksley, How are you my dear?”

Sorry I can’t be there in person (for you, as well as for my own self) but for what it’s worth, know that I am supporting you from afar. In prayer, that things during and (especially) after, will go in a way that leaves you comfortable, untroubled and with unadulterated good memories.

    Love
    Locksley

  2. I love and adore you all. Your mom was feisty and I thank her when she prayed with me.
It spoke to me at the service about encouraging others to learn and to learn how strong they are.
Thank you and love to you all.

  3. Devon
Words can’t express the loss you feel the emptiness that comes with the loss of a mother.
I pray that God comfort you and the rest of your siblings at this time and even on those days where you remember her fondly.
I can say, I know what this kind of loss does to you.
    You are never the same.
Express my love to everyone and my regret for not being present.
I will forever keep her in my heart with my mother and only hope that one day I can think of them and not feel sadness but relief of them being in a much better place.
My friend, take care of yourself and your extended family
You are now the rock your mother has grown you to be.
The glue to keep them together

    My condolences
    D. Gordon

  4. Gone but never to be forgotten. You fought the good fight and showed resilience every step of the way. Lessons for life I will never forget. But the good Lord decided you had been through enough and called you home. Rest in Peace mother dear. You are my hero.
